Each tutor establishes a professional relationship as a tutor for APA. Tutors are selected based on their educational background, experience with children and their passion for teaching. They are also required to have a recent criminal record check with a vulnerable sector screening.
Our tutors share in our philosophy of teaching to the individual and each tutor we hire is gifted in the art of individualizing instruction. Moreover, each shares our enthusiasm for inspiring a passion for learning and empowering students to discover their strengths and achieve results.

Mary Printz M.Ed
Advisor and Principal
Mary Printz, M.Ed., is the co-founder and principal of Accelerated Potential Academy, a transformational educator, educational consultant, coach, and speaker with more than 35 years of experience.
Mary combines educational psychology, neuroscience, executive-function support, emotional intelligence, and evidence-based literacy and mathematics instruction to help students overcome learning barriers, strengthen foundational skills, and build confidence.
Her advanced professional learning includes training through Harvard’s Minds at Work faculty, Boston Children’s Hospital, Stanford Graduate School of Education, AVID’s WICOR® framework, Brain Story Certification, specialized qualifications in autism, ADHD, dyslexia, dysgraphia, trauma-informed education, and learning intervention.
Since 2015, Mary and her team have supported young learners through adulthood through remediation, maintenance, enrichment, and academic acceleration. She has also shared her work with audiences in Canada, the United States, and India.
Whether a student is struggling, gifted, twice-exceptional, or ready to move ahead, Mary’s goal is to always help learners understand how they think, recognize their strengths, and develop the skills and confidence to thrive in school and in life.

Jeff Printz, B.Sc., P.Eng
Chief Administrative Officer
Jeff Printz is the co-founder and Chief Administrative Officer of Accelerated Potential Academy. A Professional Engineer, Project Manager, and book editor with more than 25 years of professional experience, he brings analytical thinking, precision, strategic planning, and a deep passion for mathematics education to APA.
Jeff moves students beyond memorizing procedures to become confident mathematical thinkers. He identifies the beliefs, habits, and learning barriers that can limit progress and uses practical, research-informed strategies to strengthen understanding, reasoning, problem-solving, and perseverance.
His advanced professional learning includes training through the University of Calgary’s Hotchkiss Brain Institute, Stanford Graduate School of Education, AVID’s WICOR® framework, as well as specialized study in ADHD, EQ, executive functioning, dyscalculia, dysgraphia, trauma-informed education, and learning intervention.
At APA, Jeff oversees administrative operations and contributes to the planning of individualized programs. He creates targeted mathematics lessons using carefully selected strategies, activities, and relevant applications designed around each learner’s strengths and needs.
His goal is for students experience success understanding mathematics and develop the confidence to approach challenging problems with curiosity and resilience.

Elizebeth
~ Tutor - Adult Learning
Elizebeth started her career as a teacher in northern Alberta where she taught for 18 years, an experience that taught her a great deal about teaching, especially ESL students. This lead to taking on the role of Principal. Over the years Elizebeth has taught Home Economics, English, Math, and Social Studies. She has a love of Alberta history and writing and has written novel studies and fiction. She developed a love of writing in while attending Medicine Hat College. Elizebeth finished her Bachelor of Education at the University of Lethbridge with a major in Social Studies and a minor in English, then went to the University of Calgary where she earned a BA in History. She also completed her Masters of Education at the University of Calgary.

Ruth
~ Tutor - Adult Learning
Ruth graduated with a Bachelor of Education from the University of Saskatchewan. She enjoyed classroom teaching for 35 years and only gave it up with her move to Medicine Hat in June of 2018. Though she has taught many subjects at many grade levels, her passions are Reading, Writing, Math, Music, and the challenge that technology presents. Outside of her tutoring adventures, she loves spending time with her husband, her three children, and her very large extended family. Together with them, she enjoys good food, good books, singing & playing music, watching favourite sports teams play, her pets and grand-pets, and an animated discussion on just about any topic.
